FC Barcelona plan renovation of the Nou Camp

FC Barcelona's spokesperson informed the club fans that the club has decided to expand their home ground, the Nou Camp to carry up to 105,000 people.

The Camp Nou which has been the FC Barcelona stadium since 24th of September 1957, the date of its inauguration currently accommodates 99,354 football fans.

He also added that the club hierarchy will not embark on a project Thea will harness the development of the club.

The stadium has been subjected to expansion in 1982 and also renovated in 1995 and 2008. The Camp Nou was once the same size as the Maracanā Stadium in Rio d Janeiro which is the largest stadium in the world with capacity for 120, 000 spectators but was reduced in size due to security concerns.
